Made For More (Reprise)
What do people gain from all their labors at which they toil under the sun? Generations come and generations go, but the earth remains forever. The sun rises and the sun sets, and hurries back to where it rises.
But then again, maybe, just maybe…
The more I try to find purpose in a job, the more I find there is a thirst that money can’t quench.
Maybe, just maybe, there is no true joy behind self-care, and it’s really just a ruse to hide my self-centeredness.
Maybe, just maybe, the more I try to feel accomplished by checking things off my list, the more I realize I’m just trying to feel like I’ve done something.
Maybe, just maybe, the bottomless pit of hell is synonymous with the bottom of my feed, which I can never seem to reach.
But the more times I wake up and fall asleep, only to wake up with the same sense of impending doom, resigned to do the same thing again tomorrow, the more I’m starting to think that maybe, just maybe, I was made for more.
The Recap
inspired by one of my favorite passages of the Bible
“What do people gain from all their labors at which they toil under the sun? Generations come and generations go, but the earth remains forever. The sun rises and the sun sets, and hurries back to where it rises.” Ecclesiastes 1:3-5
the core message of this project has stayed the same. what if all the things we spend our time chasing after really are just a waste of time? I heard someone once say “is there anything more tragic than spending your whole life trying to get something, only to get it and realize it’s not really what you really wanted?”
if you haven’t watched my latest cinematic project “Made For More” you can catch the original project on my YouTube. It would me the world to me if you watched it!
